Pizza Hut teamed up with YouTube star Airrack to create the world’s largest pizza in California – and the finished product received recognition from Guinness World Records!
Pizza Hut and Eric “Airrack” Decker created the mammoth 13,990 square-foot pizza at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
The record-breaking pizza contained approximately 13,653 pounds of dough, 4,948 pounds of marinara sauce, 630,496 slices of pepperoni, and a whopping 8,800 pounds of cheese.
Pizza Hut chose the challenge to promote the relaunch of the Big New Yorker – a popular menu item the chain offered in the 1990s.
“Our customers have been begging us to bring back the Big New Yorker for more than two decades, so we knew we had to do something big,” said Pizza Hut President David Graves in a press release.
Pizza Hut revealed the humongous pizza didn’t go to waste – it was donated to charities in the Los Angeles area.
