Fall is officially here – and with the cooler weather comes a penchant for heartwarming foods such as chili. But between decorating for Halloween, fall festivals and football games, who has the time to whip up a batch of homemade chili? Turns out, there’s one canned variety that gives the homemade version a run for its money – and can be on the table in seconds!

The Takeout took the canned chili taste test to task to figure out which canned chilis were the tastiest. Samuelson grabbed eight different brands from big chains, Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods, then ranked them “based on their flavor profile, nutritional value, and price.”
According to Samuelson, there was one clear winner – Campbell’s Chunky Chili with Beans!
“I was so stunned by how good this chili was,” Samuelson revealed of his top find. “When I tasted Stagg chili [the second choice], I thought I’d found euphoria. But then I tried Campbell’s. There are not enough adjectives to describe how good this chili is, especially for a canned product. It’s chunky, hearty, fragrant, and filling. There’s a nice chocolaty brown color, very large beans, and a hint of sweetness toward the end. Overall, a perfectly balanced chili.”
